The 3650HG is a kind of Optically-Coupled Linear Isolation Amplifier.Compared to these earlier isolation amplifier, the 3650HG has the advantage of smaller size,lower cost, wider bandwidth and integrated circuit reliability. Also, because it uses a DC analog modulation technique as opposed to a carrier-type technique, the 3650HG avoids the problems of electromagnetic interference (both transmitted and received) that most of the modular isolation amplifiers exhibit.
